The Diode Laser is an advanced hair removal method that uses light pulses to guide melanin, the pigment present in the hair, to the hair roots and destroy them. This unique process makes it possible to achieve a final result after approximately 6 to 8 treatments, which is a clear advantage over traditional methods such as shaving and epilation.
Although the terms laser and IPL are often used interchangeably, there are important differences between the two. Laser treatments work in a more selective manner, with the high energy specifically targeting the hair follicle, rather than the surrounding skin. This ensures faster and more effective results, and also makes laser treatments suitable for people with dark skin tones. IPL, on the other hand, also spreads the light to other structures, causing the hair follicles to be heated less efficiently. As a result, more IPL treatments are generally required to achieve complete hair removal.

Yes, laser hair removal is a safe procedure when performed by expert professionals and with approved equipment. At our clinic we have strict safety standards to ensure that every treatment is safe and effective.
Our laser equipment used is medically CE certified, which indicates that it meets strict safety and quality standards. In addition, we only work with experienced laser specialists who are trained in performing laser hair removal and ensuring patient safety.
Before beginning any treatment, we always take the time to gather a detailed medical history from the patient. We ask questions about any medical conditions, medication use and sun behavior. This information is essential to assess whether there are possible risks and to be able to offer a tailor-made treatment that is safe for the patient.
Our goal is to ensure that every patient has a positive and safe experience during their laser hair removal treatment. We strive to promote open communication so that we have all the necessary information to perform the treatment optimally and safely.
Certainly! Laser hair removal can permanently remove up to 90% of hairs (with pigment). However, there is a possibility that the remaining 10% may return due to factors such as medication use or hormonal changes, for example during pregnancy or menopause. In such cases, maintenance treatment can be scheduled to control and minimize any new hair growth.
Our laser treatment with three wavelengths, 755 nm Alexandrite, 808 nm Diode and 1064 nm Nd:YAG, makes it possible to treat all skin types. Lighter skin can generally be treated more effectively, especially when it comes to dark hair. The contrast between the dark hair and light skin makes it easier for the laser to target the pigment in the hair follicles. For darker skin types, good results can be achieved with the right settings and techniques tailored to the specific skin color and hair type.
To be effective, hair must contain pigment, because the pigment transports light to the hair roots, thus allowing their destruction. However, gray and white hair have virtually no pigment, so the treatment will have little effect. For light blonde and red hair this applies to some extent, although some clients may still experience reduction in hair growth and it may be worth a try.
Here are some important tips to keep in mind before your laser treatment:
• Make sure your skin is clean before coming to the treatment. Avoid using deodorant, make-up, perfume and other care products on the area to be treated on the day of the treatment.
• Do not use self-tanning products on the area to be treated for 2 weeks before the treatment.
• Avoid sun exposure or use of tanning beds for 4 weeks before treatment.
• Do not plan your treatment so that you go on holiday within 2 weeks after the treatment. Sun exposure is not allowed for 2 weeks after treatment. Afterwards you should use sun protection with a minimum SPF30.
• The area to be treated should not be waxed or waxed for 6 weeks before the treatment.
• Shave the area to be treated 1 day before the treatment. The shorter the hairs are, the less you will feel the treatment.
• If you are taking medication, always consult your doctor to check whether you can safely receive laser in combination with those medications.
• Wear comfortable clothing during the treatment. If you are being treated in or around the pubic area, we recommend wearing white underwear, as the laser can cause damage to black underwear.
• And last but not least… relax! It is important to relax and feel comfortable during the treatment.
Here are some additional tips to keep in mind for your laser hair removal treatment:
• Make sure you shave the area to be treated one day before the treatment so that the hairs are the correct length for the laser.
• Try to maintain a period of 6 weeks between your treatments as much as possible. It is important to continue treatment regularly because too long intervals can ultimately result in more treatments needed.
• Avoid sun exposure as much as possible for the parts of your body that you are having treatment. For example, wear light shorts on sunny days to cover your entire bikini line. Excessive sun exposure can cause pigment spots, especially in sensitive skin areas. The same goes for the face, wear a sun hat or cap on sunny days.
• If you love the sun and can't live without it, consider starting your treatments right after summer. If you are not ready before the new summer arrives, take a break and resume the treatments after the summer.
• It is not advisable to start facial treatment just before or during the summer. Sun exposure before or after treatments increases the risk of pigmentation spots. It is better to start facial treatments after the summer.
• If you wish to have children in the short term, it is advisable to wait until after the birth and possible breastfeeding period before starting the treatments. During pregnancy, hormonal changes can cause some of the hair to grow back.
• If you plan to get a tattoo in the area to be treated, wait until you have finished your laser treatments. Once a tattoo has been made, we can no longer treat the area with the laser.
